"Stash Buster Challenge Journal - Finished"

Image
Hello Everyone Hoping you are all safe and well... I am pretty busy with work and at the moment we are out of lockdown... The Stashbuster Journal Challenge is now finished and I have completed the challenges required. I will still add things to it and fill it up more. I think I could use it as a garden journal as it is rose/garden themed. I used Antique Rose and Antique Garden, Digital kits from the group and they are beautiful.......I used different parts of the kits that I printed out. I also used papers etc through my journal, with lots from my stash!!!! This is my 11 x 7 " chunky journal. In front of it is a writing board I made to use, to have a sturdy surface to write, stamp etc. There is lots of space to add 'stuff' too and I made the closure with eyelets and some fringe trim. I used the same eyelets, on the top and bottom of the spine and used the same trim to bind the pages into it.  Above, you can see I threaded each one separately and tied them on the outside.

"Stash Busting September" - Element Challenges

Hi friends, I have really enjoyed the Stash Buster Challenge. These are all the finished element challenges for my journal.  This one was to use book pages and make 3 items to add to your journal.  I made a double corner tuck on the left, a belly band in the middle and a double pocket on the right.  The next one, I decided to have a go at was to use strips of leftover paper for your elements.  On the left is a small paper bag pocket, the middle is a pocket on the front using the basketweave paper technique and the right one is a flip out. All just using strips of paper that I have had leftover from other projects. I used a bit of a couple of Digi prints mixed on them also. For this element, you needed to use a roll of some sort of paper as the base for your items. I had some packaging paper and I stamped all over it. I then made a full-size flip page. I made a belly band and a double envelope stack with the paper and other bits and bobs. On the back is another envelope from the kit th

"Mum's Memory Journal" - Finished

Hi Friends, Hoping you are well in your part of the world. We are just coming out of lockdown again in Western Victoria, which is good :) I have finished the journal making part of Mum's Memory Journal. Now to fill it with photos and stories ....... This post is photo-heavy, so you know :) The final two challenges were to make 3 Altered Paper clips, 3 Altered playing cards, plus bind your journal and the cover. I made Mum's journal from an upcycled 80's craft binder. It is three-ring so I didn't have to worry about making a cover and binding it........ I made a front cover from one of the extra pages I created. It also has the tassel I made hanging on the spine. I used larger paper clips and tied some of the trims to it that I used on the spine dangle. I also added a few different charms to them.   For the Altered playing cards, I did them layered in the sewing/vintage theme, to match all the other elements I had made.   The front cover is a collaged pieces of differen

Happy Spring!! I hope you have had a lovely start to a new season here in Australia. The days start to get a bit warmer and the rain eases off a little!!  Still in Lockdown but we just have to take it a day at a time!!! Spring is a time for change and new things....... I have just decided to take the plunge and go digital with my Journal making and memory keeping. I bought an Epson Eco Tank 2750 to be able to print what I want instead of having to order online to get products. With Lockdown shipping is taking a lot longer also......I have been testing it out this week and I love it. I have bought a few digital kits which you download to the computer then they are yours to keep using as much as you want.  There are also lots of free printables available also out there.  The kits have paper, and embellishments included. You can also buy them separately if wanted. This month, I am diving into my stash to see what hidden gems I have totally forgotten about....... I have joined in with a S
